ऑर्बिट 9X फिल्म्स द्वारा निर्मित हॉरर फिल्म नंबर गेम की आल इंडिया रिलीज की तारीख तय हो चुकी है. हिंदी फिल्म नंबर गेम सत्य घटना पर आधारित एक काल्पनिक हॉरर फिल्म है. इस फिल्म की कहानी के लिए १९९१ में हुए एक बहुचर्चित बलात्कार काण्ड को आधार बनाया गया है जब पश्चिम बंगाल की सत्तारूढ़ राजनितिक दल के कार्यकर्ताओं ने चार महिलाओं के साथ दुष्कर्म करने के उपरांत उनकी हत्या कर दी थी और राज्य सरकार अपने कार्यकर्ताओं के विरुद्ध कोई कदम उठाने के लिए तैयार नहीं थी. इस कारण से तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री ज्योतिबसु पर कारवाई करने के लिए दबाव बनता जा रहा था और आखिरकार उन्हें करवाई करनी पड़ी.

नंबर गेम इसी घटना पर आधारित बनी हुई एक काल्पनिक फिल्म है जिसमें इस घटना को उद्घृत किया गया है. आज की बढ़ती हुई बलात्कार की घटना को और मानसिक कुंठा को परिवर्तित करने के ध्येय से निर्माता संजय शर्मा ने इस कहानी को सुना और इस पर फिल्म बनाने के लिए राजी हो गए. लेखक व निर्देशक सुमित सिन्हा ने ही इस कहानी की पटकथा और संवाद को लिखा है. निर्माता संजय शर्मा और निर्देशक सुमित सिन्हा पहले भी सुमित सिन्हा द्वारा निर्देशित फिल्म बायस्कोप के लिए एक साथ काम कर चुके है. फिल्म सामजिक है और मनोरंजन से भी भरपूर है साथ ही इसमें उस भय का माहौल भी है जिसे देखकर युवाओं को दिशानिर्देश मिलता है. एक १२ वर्ष की छोटी लड़की किस प्रकार से अपनी माँ का और खुद के साथ हुए बलात्कार और हत्या का गिन गिन कर बदला लेती है  फिल्म “नंबर गेम” में यही दिखाया गया है.
