Great Gala Opening of 9th Global Literary Festival Noida 2023

Noida, India – The 9th edition of the Global Literary Festival Noida, organized by the Asian Academy of Arts in collaboration with the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry, commenced with grandeur and grandiosity at Marwah Studios in Noida Film City. This remarkable event has successfully brought together representatives from seventy countries, including esteemed authors, writers, poets, and artists from diverse regions, all united to celebrate the essence of love, peace, and unity through the medium of Art and Culture, echoing the festival’s slogan: ‘G-70: Uniting through Art and Culture.’

The festival was inaugurated amidst fervor and enthusiasm, as distinguished guests and attendees witnessed the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, a symbolic representation of enlightenment and wisdom. Following this, a garlanding of Lord Ganesha took place, signifying auspicious beginnings.

Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President of GFJN and Chancellor of AAFT University, expressed his excitement at the festival’s opening, highlighting the convergence of creative minds from around the world. He emphasized the festival’s mission to bridge nations through the spirit of literature and artistic expression.

H.E. Cho Hui Chol, the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Korea, extended his congratulations to Dr. Sandeep Marwah for this international showcase of literary and cultural exchange. Patricia Josephine NTYAM EHYA, Charge d’Affaires at the Embassy of Gabon, invited attendees to participate in another literary festival planned for Gabon, showcasing her enthusiasm for fostering cultural connections.

Cdr. K L Ganju, Hon. Consul General of the Union of Comoros, acknowledged the significant impact of events organized by ICMEI and Marwah Studios in strengthening bilateral relations between India and Comoros. Dr. Dewakaar Goel, a distinguished author with 17 published books, praised the festival as a global bridge connecting multiple countries through the power of literature.

Renowned writer Robin Bhatt commended the fusion of literature and film writing, a distinctive feature of this festival. Savita Singh, a celebrated author and poetess, lauded the grand scale and societal relevance of the Global Literary Festival Noida.

During the inauguration, a book on Amrita Shergil by Dr. Neelam Verma was unveiled, alongside the release of a poster honoring Ram Manohar Lohia, an Indian social worker. A painting exhibition of artists from all over India was also opened by the dignitaries. Dr. Marwah expressed his gratitude to the esteemed dignitaries present by presenting festival mementos, followed by a vote of thanks by festival director Sushil Bharti.

INDIA – October 01 2023 – “Bahadur – The Brave,” a groundbreaking film directed by Diwa Shah, made history by becoming the first-ever debut director’s Indian film to win the coveted Kutxabank – New Directors Award at the prestigious 71st San Sebastián International Film Festival. The film, produced by Hardhyaan Films (Visvesh Singh Sehrawat) and Sinai Pictures (Thomas Ajay Abraham), had its world premiere on September 23, 2023, as part of the ‘New Directors’ section at the festival, marking a momentous achievement in the realm of Indian cinema.

‘For having a singular and opportune sociopolitical vision, and for delving into an exciting local story with universal scope, centred around an honest and touching friendship, the jury of the Kutxabank-New Directors award proudly bestows ‘Bahadur – The Brave’ by Diwa Shah with this esteemed honour.’ Eloquently stated, Emily Morgan, Jury President, in her award presentation.

Set against the backdrop of a nationwide lockdown imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic in India, “Bahadur – The Brave” weaves a gripping narrative around the struggles of Nepalese migrant laborers. The film’s protagonist, Hansi, seizes an opportunity to navigate the emerging labour crisis and secure a better future for his ailing son when his brother-in-law, Dil Bahadur, offers him illegal work in a go-down. Diwa Shah’s directorial debut shines a light on the human condition and the relentless pursuit of hope amidst adversity.

San Sebastián International Film Festival has a storied history, having hosted some of the most iconic moments in cinema, including the international premiere of Alfred Hitchcock’s “Vertigo” and the recognition of Francis Ford Coppola’s “The Rain People” with the Golden Shell.

“Bahadur – The Brave” joins the ranks of distinguished Indian films screened at the festival, such as Mira Nair’s “Salaam Bombay,” Satyajit Ray’s “Charulata,” Mrinal Sen’s “Antareem,” and Rima Das’s “Village Rockstars.” Notably, it is the first time that a debut Indian director has clinched the Kutxabank – New Directors Award, marking a historic milestone in Indian cinema.

The film also received acclaim at the NFDC Film Bazaar Work-in-progress lab, where it was honoured with the Prasad Lab DI award recently.

The stunning cinematography by Modhura Palit, a recipient of the Pierre Angénieux ExcelLens in Cinematography (Special Encouragement Award for promising cinematographer) at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, adds depth and visual richness to the film.

Ankush Prashant More’s art direction, Komal Rawal’s costume styling (hailing from Nainital), Viraj Zunjarrao’s editing, and the exquisite sound design by Rakesh Janardhan, Thomas Ajay Abraham, and Jishnu Dev have all garnered praise at the premiere in San Sebastián International Film Festival, further cementing “Bahadur the Brave” as a standout achievement in contemporary Indian cinema.

The film boasts a talented cast, including debut actors Rupesh Lama from Kathmandu and Rahul Nawaz Mukhia from Darjeeling, as well as non-actors from Nainital, meticulously chosen by local crew members Vivek Bhagat and Anupam Lamba and the creative producer, Nagma Chaudhary, who united all their efforts together.

The Film MECHANIC DADA Shot In Nagaland Won 25 Awards

Mechanic Dada a film shot in Nagaland with all actors and technicians from Northeast India bags more than 25 awards at various film festivals.

Produced by Rebecca Changkija Sema  under the banner of Find Studioz , Mechanic Dada is written by Hekishe Sema from Nagaland. N.K.Naga has sung a song in tbe movie who us also from Nagakand . Main lead cast Kartic Karan , Yana Sakhlani , Kathu Sumi , Payal Purkayasth,Sudipta Chakraborty , R.M.Bagchi , Deepak Deb , Kamal Deep Sunwar , Botako Sumi , Ayushman Chakraborty , Rakesh Lal , Arun Chakraborty , Ledia Zhimo and other supporting cast all are from northeast. Music Director of the film is Abuzar Rizvi from Mumbai.

The movie was premiered at NORTHEAST INDIA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL  [ NFDC and ministry of I and B ] at Dimapur 2022. The movie won official selection at NEFF , Northeast film festival 2023 held at N.F.D.C. complex Mumbai in March 2023.

Mechanic Dada is directed by Shiraz Henry who’s earlier released films are The dark secrets of tonhi , Beyond the 3rd kind , Little boy. 

The filmmakers said that this is there 3rd movie which they have shot in northeast India.  The other two being Little boy in arunachal pradesh and Te amo in Meghalaya and Assam.

FIND STUDIO has been promoting talents from northeast India under the guidance of Rebecca Changkija Sema who hails from Dimapur Nagaland.

REBECCA told the press that they have been arranging workshop in nagaland for past few years and also the conduct Northeast Unsung Heroes every year .
