Cannes: Renowned film TV and media personality of Republic of India Sandeep Marwah, President of Marwah Studios has been honored with Life Time Achievement Award by A F I World Cinema Initiative at American Pavilion at 72^nd Cannes International Film Festival 2019 in a grand function.

“Sandeep Marwah may not be that old but his contribution to World Cinema is immense. Founder of Noida Film City, Marwah Studios, Asian Academy of Film And Television, Marwah has brought millions of people together and propagated Love, Peace and Unity through Art and Culture,” said PrincessAngelique Monét    President of the organization.

Titled with Global Cultural Minister, Global Green Ambassador, Global Peace Ambassador, Global Management Guru Sandeep Marwah is now Chancellor of AAFT University of Media And Arts, the First Film University of India.

Teacher to 15000 Media Professionals, Producer of Largest number of Short Films 2500, President of 10 best International film festivals in India, Gunnies World Record Holder, recipient of 600 awards from all over World, Chair of 100 film, TV and media organizations and representative of cultural Associations for 50 countries of the World Sandeep Marwah deserves much more than this.

Film producers, directors, educators and representatives of large media companies from all over the World including film lovers were present there to see this glittering and important event of 72^nd Cannes International Film Festival.

KETHIREDDY JAGADEESWARA REDDY TO MAKE BIOPIC ON TAMILNADU EX-CM JAYALALITHA & SASIKALA

It’s raining biopic on Tamil Nadu’s late Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa. Many filmmakers had expressed their wish to make a movie on her life and at least five movies have been announced. The latest, if materialises, might be bigger than others. It is simply because of the presence of Bollywood actress Kajol Devgn and Amala Paul. Rumours are floating in the industry that Kethireddy Jagadeeswara Reddy  who is the Tamil Nadu Telugu Yuvasakthi President and also film director, will  approach Kajol Devgn to play the role of J Jayalalithaa, while Amala Paul for the character of Jaya’s close aide Sasikala  who is now serving her four-year imprisonment in the disproportionate case, in the movie called SASI LALITHA .

 

However, there is no official confirmation on the two actresses accepting or rejecting the offer. A poster of the movie was released recently.

It has to be noted that the same director had earlier claimed that he would be doing a biopic on NTR and his wife Lakshmi Parvathi. Interestingly, Amala Paul’s ex-husband AL Vijay is doing a biopic on J Jayalalithaa titled Thalaivi which has Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Among the six, only AL Vijay’s movie and Priyadarshini’s Iron Lady, which has Nithya Menon and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in the roles of Jaya and Sasikala, Kethireddy Jagadeeswara Reddy, Lingusamy, Ram Gopal Varma and Bharathiraaja are the other filmmakers who are interested to make a biopic on J Jayalalithaa.

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa is the only public figure in India on whom multiple biopics are being made/planned and all the films are in the making. Sasi Lalitha director,producerJagadeesiswara Reddy is also very close associate of Jayalalitha

मशहूर गायिका आशा भोसले ने आइटम गर्ल राखी सावंत के लिए एक आइटम नंबर गाया, आशाजी राखी को इस गाने की सफलता के लिए आशीर्वाद भी दिया।

अपनी खनकदार आवाज़ के लिए मशहूर गायिका आशा भोसले ने आज शाम मुंबई में एक आइटम नंबर रिकॉर्ड किया। इस गाने की खासियत है कि इसे सुनकर आपको फिल्म कुर्बानी का सुपरहिट सॉन्ग ‘लैला मैं लैला’ की याद जरूर आएगी। थोड़ी अरबी, थोड़ी उर्दू-फारसी और बाकी हिन्दुस्तानी भाषा का प्रयोग कर लिखे गए इस गाने की कहानी है कि यह गाना पाकिस्तान में नौटंकी में नाचने वाली लड़की के लिए है, जो अपनी कातिल अदाओं और खूबसूरत हुस्न के के जलवे से कश्मीरी जवानों को जिहाद के रास्ते पर भेजती है।

     

इस पाकिस्तानी लड़की का किरदार राखी सावंत निभा रही हैं और इसी गाने को आशा भोसले ने अपनी खनकदार आवाज से सजाया है। हाल ही में राखी सांवत ने सोशल मीडिया पर अपनी एक तस्वीर शेयर की थी, जिसमें वह पाकिस्तान के झंडे को सीने से लगाए दिख रही हैं। राखी की यह तस्वीर फिल्म ‘कश्मीर धारा 370‘ की शूटिंग के दौरान की थी। यह गाना उसी फिल्म के लिए रिकॉर्ड किया गया है।

आशा ताई ने यह गाना करीब एक घंटे में रिकॉर्ड कर लिया। वह स्टूडियो में पहुंची और सबसे पहले पूरा गाना खुद अपनी राइटिंग में लिखा और याद किया और थोड़े ही समय में उन्होंने गाने की रिकॉर्डिंग पूरी भी कर ली। आशा ताई ने गाना रिकॉर्ड होने के बाद राखी सावंत और फिल्म के निर्देशक राकेश सावंत के साथ फिल्म के विषय पर भी चर्चा की। राखी सहित फिल्म की पूरी टीम को फिल्म की सफलता के लिए आशीर्वाद दिया और राखी के साथ गाने के बोल पर ठुमके लगाने में भी पीछे नहीं रहीं।

फिल्म ‘कश्मीर: धारा 370’ कश्मीर समस्या और कश्मीरी पंडितों पर आधारित है। निर्देशक राकेश सावंत बताते हैं, ‘हमारी फिल्म का नाम है कश्मीर: धारा 370, हमने पिछले दिनों ही फिल्म की शूटिंग देहरादून और कश्मीर में पूरी कर ली। देहरादून में हम 1947 के समय का कश्मीर दिखा रहे थे, जो बहुत मुश्किल था। लकड़ी के जो मकान होते थे, उस जमाने में, हमने वही सब देखकर फिल्म की शूटिंग की। फिल्म में हितेन तेजवानी अहम भूमिका में हैं। 2 नई लड़किया हैं, अंजली पांडे और तन्वी टंडन। मनोज जोशी मेरी फिल्म में कश्मीरी पंडित का रोल निभा रहे हैं, उनकी वाइफ का रोल कर रही हैं, जरीना वहाब जी और उनके बेटे के रोल में हितेन तेजवानी हैं।’
‘फिल्म में एक मुस्लिम परिवार की भी अहम भूमिका है। पंकज धीर और अनीता राज पति-पत्नी के रूप में हैं, जो कश्मीर का एक मुस्लिम परिवार है, इनकी बेटी अंजली पांडे हैं। हकीकत तो यह है कि बहुत से लोग यह नहीं जानते कि धारा 370 है क्या? मैं दुनिया के सामने धारा 370 की सच्चाई लाने के लिए यह फिल्म बना रहा हूं। यह फिल्म बीजेपी की है। मैं यह फिल्म प्रधानमंत्री मोदी को गिफ्ट करूंगा, क्योंकि यह मुद्दा भी मोदीजी का ही है। हमने इस फिल्म को इसी साल अगस्त के पहले सप्ताह यानी 7 अगस्त को रिलीज़ करना तय किया है।’

The Lone Wolf Sheds Light on the Power of Radicalization Through Film

BEVERLEY HILLS, California—A first-time filmmaker from India is creating a stir and causing a heated debated between radicalized and non-radicalized Muslims in the United States in the wake of the devastating Sri Lanka bombings.

Balakrishna P. Subbiah’s “The Lone Wolf” delves deep into the complex mind of a radical Islamic Jihadist referred to as the titular Lone Wolf. The film has been picked up by Little House Studio Films based in Beverley Hills, California and will be distributed by Leomark.

The opening scenes of “The Lone Wolf” pan out across a remote landscape at the India-Pakistan border near Punjab. A group of terrorists try to cross the heavily monitored border via a barbed fence and are shot down by the Border Security Force–all except for one, Abu Aatif (The Lone Wolf). Aatif digs his way through an underground canal the terrorists previously imploded and creates a hidden tunnel burrowed deep beneath the border.

 

Days after successfully breeching the border, Aatif finds refuge in the house of a transgender woman who aids in his recovery by nursing him back to health and feeding him. Unknown to Aatif, his host is raising a venomous cobra that is on a mission to attack the city of Mumbai in Western India.

Once Aatif recovers from him injuries, the highly educated and sombre young man moves to Syria at the behest of contacts he makes via the Dark Web, where his story takes a tragic turn into the shadowy world of radical Islamic terrorism. Aatif’s journey into this dark realm reinforces the persuasive and memorizing power of radicalization and how it can entice anybody at anytime and anywhere.

Trained by ISIS, Aatif is tasked with bombing the city of Mumbai and eventually moves to Pakistan. After completing training in Pakistan, he meets members of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, who help him cross over into mainland India, and eventually find refuge in a secret camp in the Khorasan Province of Afghanistan.

In Afghanistan, Aatif comes fully into his own as terrorist–intelligent, highly skilled and radicalized enough where his deranged mind is unable to see anything except the journey to heaven by killing himself–the edict of the Islamic State.

Eventually, he connects with his handlers, and upon their directives, brutally murders the transgender woman who gave him shelter and quickly flees after the horrific act.

However, unbeknownst to him, as flees the crime scene by walking through the streets, he is met with a twist of fate.

Kalashnikov, the transgendered woman who cares for Aatif is well-casted by Kalki Subramaniam, a real-life transgender activist and painter. She adds remarkable authenticity to the film, as does actor Sandeep Pednekar, who plays the chief of the Anti-Terrorism Squad of the state of Maharashtra.

Deepak Sharma, who plays the role of The Lone Wolf terrorist Aatif, is a model based in Australia and is the face of Audi. Sharma effortlessly assumes his character with horrifying ease and silent brilliance. “Kalashnikov,” the working title of “The Lone Wolf,” is Deepak Sharma’s first film –a film which he also directs.  The movie has been shot lyrically by Shobith Sharma, who handles the camera for a feature film for the first time in his career.

The film’s soundtrack is enhanced by an eerie humming that originates from traditional Indian vocalist Seema Uniyal of New Delhi, giving the film a  foreboding “Rosemary’s Baby” feel.

“Kalashnikov,” the working title of the film, was changed to “The Lone Wolf” by its distributors–with good reason. It won the Best Director award at the Dadasaheb Film Festival held in New Delhi in mid-May, which is considered to be one of India’s most prestigious awards.

“The Lone Wolf” is a must-see film for those involved, interested, or active in the field of counterterrorism and work related to Homeland Security. Though the film is based on true events, the director at no point makes an attempt to align his main protagonist with any religion, despite certain references being inevitable.

The film was conceived by the executive producers, along with one of the best film critics ever–the late Roger Ebert–in 2012 during one of their meetings in South East Asia.  Ebert claimed to have stated the film was highly futuristic and surreal, yet real, and he hoped it would turn into a major motion picture.

Ebert’s wish has been granted, and it has done so with a remarkable impact.
