Producer Chanda Patel is gearing up for Bollywood debut through I’m Not Porn Star: Nazar Sambhal Ke. Allaying fears about the Indian film industry’s future, filmmaker Chanda Patel avers Bollywood is here to stay and the change is the transition of viewers who are now consuming content online.
“Audiences don’t die. They shift. People are consuming content on the net. Bollywood is not going anywhere, but personally I believe piracy should go. With digital coming in, there is a certain amount of realignment that is happening,” said Chanda Patel.
She was asked to comment on the future of Bollywood in the age of digital media.
Quizzed on her career and her experiences as a woman in the industry, Chanda said: “We should never believe it’s a man’s world. The moment you think about that, you put yourself back.”

Kishin Awatramani’s first solo exhibition ‘Illuminations’ has been organised at the Jehangir (Hirji) Art Gallery, Mumbai from 18th to 24th March. Each abstract painting in this exhibition is meticulously composed by complex layering of luscious hues. They exude a neat, high-wired act between movement and a Zen-like stillness.The artist’s greatest pursuit is to bring out his inner emotions through application of colors, textures and highlights. These creations provide the artist with endless potentialities enabling him an escape.
The exhibition have been inaugurated at the auspicious hands of the Chief Guest, Dr. Keki Turel, renowned Neurosurgeon and Mr. Kerul Patel, acclaimed Karate Black belt holder and TEDx speaker on 18th March, 2019.
The Mumbai based self-taught artist is a successful businessperson. 10 years ago when Kishin surrendered to his inner calling of colors, he received extensive guided training in fine arts, acquiring various artistic skills and techniques. With sheer dedication and focus, Kishin has created art every single day since then. Each painting is a whole universe within itself, alive with emotions and throbbing with elation.
The president of India Fine Arts Council Mr. Haresh Mehta and Vice President Mr. Rajesh Shrivastav Sandip Soparrkar as a new chairman of India Fine Arts Council. IFAC presented a 3D mini replica doll especially crafted and designed by Chennai based company My Cute Mini headed by Mr Sri Hari to their newly appointed chairman Sandip Soparrkar during the press Conference in Mumbai. Apart from that a bronze hand cast of Mr Soparrkar was also presented to him by IFAC deigned by Mr and Mrs Ronak Jain of Memorobilia.
For over one and a half decade now Sandip Soparrkar has been working to promote young and upcoming artists as well as other established ones and is also instrumental in bringing the classic Latin and Ballroom dances and other world dances to Indian shores. Apart from training people world over he has also been conducting workshops and giving speeches about the importance of dance in one’s life. The renowned choreographer has been especially honoured for his fantastic work in Hollywood and bollywood films too.
During the press conference Sandip Soparrkar said, “I will cherish this moment for my life. I cannot forget the respect and love that has being showed upon me, I am completely overwhelmed. Mission of India Fine Arts Council is to promote all forms of art and artists and I promise to shoulder my responsibility in the best possible manner.”
Mr Haresh Mehta, President of IFAC said, “ Sandip Soparrkar is the ideal person to be the chairperson of India Fine Arts Council because he is a giving artist who always supports, encourages and guides the talented people and now through him and our organisation we will be able to take Indian artists and their art world over.”
The announcement ceremony hosted by internet sensation Ratan Pratap and dancer actress Ankita Dolawat was well attended by Artists such as Simran Ahuja, Dr Uma Rele, Shubh Malhotra and many others. Renowned artist Nilesh Auti made an exquisite live painting, MASK a band of young musicians sang and enthralled the audience, singer Fazal Abbas Jafri and Tabla player Dhaiwat Mehta performed a soulful Hindustani classical piece and the maestro Sandip Soparrkar himself danced with students of Nalanda Nrityalaya Mahavidhyala, Bharucha school of Ballet and Myriad Arts presenting a dance performance with all dance forms woven into one.
Sandip was one of the first few choreographers who brought in international dances on the big screen and also introduced Ballroom and Latin Dance culture to dance lovers in India apart from making it famous on Indian television reality shows. Soparrkar’s distinctive style of choreography can be seen from the very beginning of his career back in 2001. Some of his most notable work of includes choreography for films like Zubaidaa, Kites and Saat Khoon Maaf, Mangal Pandey, etc. Plus he has taken India globally by teaching dance to International icons like Madonna, Britney Spears and Beyonce Knowles and at the the same time talking about dance at various international film festivals all over the Globe. Many young influences of Bollywood today also happen to be students of Sandip Soparrkar.

Some 250 people joined in celebrating Valentine’s Day through dance Feb. 16, at Akbar Banquet Hall in Edison, N.J. Organized by Varsha Naik, director of Navrang Dance, the highlight of the event was well-known dancer Sandip Soparrkar, the special guest and master ballroom dance instructor. A press release from Naik says this was the second year of the event, themed “Valentine Magical Night” and attendees included couples, kids and families.
Starting with an open mike Karaoke where talented guests, couples and local artists sang and enjoyed their favorite romantic movie songs and melodies, the event featured a choreographed by Naik and Soparrkar.
Miss India Worldwide Shree Saini , Mrs. India USA Kavita Melhotra Pattani, and winner of Mr. Bharat Pradeep Gupta were among the special guests for the evening.
Soparrkar took over the dance floor to guide and teach the couples some ballroom moves. “Every step, every move has a meaning and when you look into your partners eyes and match their steps it feels magical and romantic”, Soparrkar is quoted saying in the press release.
The kids also enjoyed a special fashion show where “Junior Valentine Prince and Princess” were crowned. Many more prizes, raffles and give-aways also took place during the evening, the press release said.
Perfect Time Pictures present first look of upcoming film “Coat” starring Sanjay Mishra and Vivaan Shah, which is slated to hit theaters in 2019. The film in contention is titled COAT, is directed by Akshay Singh and Produced by Kumar Abhishek and it stars stalwart actors like Sanjay Mishra. Actor Vivaan Shah is to play the lead role of a low caste Pig farmer in the film. The Bihar based story will again be an arrow pointed towards the caste problem that exists in the Rural India.
Enthuses Vivaan said, “What excites me now is my latest challenging role of a ‘de-glam’ rugged, rustic Bihari shepherd in this upcoming Hindi movie ‘Coat’, directed by writer Akshay Singh. Out here, my low-caste, poor character sees a ‘coat’ and has this burning desire to wear his own coat someday. That motivates him to start his small-scale bamboo handicrafts venture and he overcomes all the odds he faces in achieving national level success.”
This story is about small village boy Madho, simple yet a big dreamer. He and his father are pig farmers, which holds the least respect in their village. In this era of fast growing technological advancements in India, he also wants to look great and achieve a high level of success.=
