8th Global Fashion and Design Week Noida 2024 Scales New Heights!

Noida, India — Creative excellence gets a fresh shot in the arm as the 8th Global Fashion and Design Week, held in Noida set unprecedented records, becoming the largest fashion event hosted by an educational institution both in India and international circuits.

This three-day event dazzled attendees with its innovative displays in fashion and furniture design, under the leadership of Festival President the inimitable Sandeep Marwah, who is also the president of Marwah Studios.

Organised by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry in collaboration with AAFT School of Fashion and Design, AAFT School of Interior Design, and AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, the festival showcased the depth of global creative talent. An impressive roster of participants from 72 countries contributed tothe culturally rich and diverse experience.

The event featured 200 designers who participated in 90 rounds of runway shows, displaying over 550 garments. Additionally, there were four exhibitions including collections of coffee table books, Indian suits and sarees, a Photography Exhibition, and 100 creative furniture pieces. The culinary arts were also highlighted with 9 food shows representing the cuisine of 20 countries, all prepared by 700 professionals over nearly three months of planning.

The festival attracted an astounding 23,000 people, including 250 notable figures from the fashion and design world, as well as 20 Ambassadors and High Commissioners, adding a significant international flavour to the event. A marching band from AAFT added a royal touch to the festivities, which were covered by 500 media houses worldwide.

Each day of the event was documented by the AAFT School of Journalism, with support from 100 volunteers from AAFT School of PR Events and Advertising, 100 digital media representatives from AAFT School of Digital Marketing and 100 camera persons from AAFT School of Still Photography.

The overwhelming appreciation and congratulations from 72 nations underscored the festival’s success in integrating and showcasing the unique cultural garments of various countries, alongside their national flags, in a spectacular ramp show format.

The opening session of the event was graced by distinguished guests including H.E. Dambajavyn Ganbold, Ambassador of Mongolia, Cdr. K.L. Ganju, Honourary Consul General of Comoros in India, celebrated designer Rina Dhaka and Ruby Yadav, Cultural Head of the BJP Wing. The session was supported by the World Peace Development and Research Foundation, which endeavours to promote the messages of love, peace, and unity through art and culture as championed by Marwah Studios.

International Showcase At The 8th Global Fashion And Design Week In Noida Surpasses Expectations

Noida, India — Setting a new benchmark, the 8th Global Fashion and Design Week hosted in Noida emerged as the largest event of its kind organized by an educational institution on a global scale. Over three days, the festival captivated an international audience with groundbreaking fashion and furniture designs, spearheaded by Festival President Sandeep Marwah, also the head of Marwah Studios.

The event was orchestrated by the International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry alongside AAFT School of Fashion and Design, AAFT School of Interior Design, and AAFT School of Hospitality and Tourism, drawing creative talents from 72 nations to partake in a celebration of diverse cultural artistry.

The festival featured a dynamic schedule of 90 runway shows with 200 designers unveiling more than 550 distinct garments. It also included four specialized exhibitions showcasing coffee table books, traditional Indian Suits & Sarees, a Photography Exhibition, and an array of 100 innovative furniture designs. Culinary arts were prominently featured with 9 food exhibitions representing the gastronomy of 20 countries, meticulously prepared by 700 experts over the course of three months. 

Drawing an impressive attendance of 23,000 people, the event was a gathering place for 250 esteemed personalities from the realms of fashion and design, including 20 Ambassadors and High Commissioners, thereby enriching the international appeal. The presence of a marching band from AAFT added a regal ambiance to the proceedings, which were broadcasted by 500 media outlets globally. 

Daily updates were provided by the AAFT School of Journalism, supported by 100 volunteers from AAFT School of PR Events and Advertising, 100 digital media specialists from AAFT School of Digital Marketing, and 100 photographers from AAFT School of Still Photography. 

The event’s success was further highlighted by the applause and commendations from 72 participating countries, celebrating the festival’s ability to integrate and exhibit distinctive cultural attire alongside national flags in a grand runway presentation.

An exhibition of Photographs by Kabeer Ramesh

Photo artist Kabeer Ramesh offers yet another solo exhibition titled ‘Every Picture has a story…’, the previous being ‘Frozen in Time’, which was held at the prestigious Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai.  ‘Every Picture has a story…’,  exhibited at the ‘Nitya Artists Centre’, Prabhadevi, from 1^st May, 2024 onwards, grapples with, as the title suggests, human endeavours/stories in diverse and vivid contexts; these are photo-stories of promises and perils of being human: the glories and triumphs memorialised in monuments are juxtaposed with toiling workers in busy bazaar streets of Kolkata; the symbols of towering human achievements – the world famous the Taj Mahal and London Bridge – co-habit with the unease of forlorn ruins of the dilapidated and discarded. Interestingly, the idea of loners is presented in creatively imagined forms – the ‘lone stone’ of Shillong relentlessly standing up to vagaries of waters, and the unending wait of birds in summer of Rajasthan. The trees presented in Kabeer Ramesh’s work too depict the diverse meaning universe: the erratic desires of the colonising human, and the falling humanity supported by dried branches of the uprooted. The exhibition also offers noteworthy studies in perspective – the broad-ways and the marvel of the Howrah bridge – what appears as meeting may be illusive, and what is near maybe far.  The monuments in Kabeer’s work present an enigma: the famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris lost its glorious treasures to the leaps of fire; so is the photograph of statue outside the Buckingham Palace, glorious yet stoic.

Kabeer Ramesh’s photographic imagery thus represents the indomitable human spirit, and also cautions against the unreasonable, erratic human desire to colonize. Importantly his works show that all human boundaries, all boundaries, are illusive,  porous and imaginary. One could easily cross over the meaning universe and find multiple meanings through acts and ways of seeing and looking, in varied times and spaces.

दिनों पिछले दिनों राजू टाक द्वारा भारतीय सिनेमा के पितामह  दादा  साहेब  फाल्के  की स्मृति में बॉम्बे एंटरटेनमेंट के बैनर तले अंधेरी (वेस्ट), मुंबई स्थित वेदा कुनबा थिएटर (सिंटा टावर) में आयोजित दादा साहेब फाल्के चित्रनगरी (फिल्म सिटी) अवॉर्ड 2024 समारोह संपन्न हुआ। फिल्म विधा से जुड़े हर क्षेत्र में क्रियाशील प्रतिभाओं को प्रकाश में लाने और प्रोत्साहित करने की दिशा में राजू टांक के द्वारा सन् 1989 से संचालित बैनर बॉम्बे एंटरटेनमेंट अग्रसर है।

दादा साहेब फाल्के चित्रनगरी (फिल्म सिटी) अवॉर्ड 2024 समारोह के आयोजन में बॉलीवुड के वरिष्ठ प्रचारक पुनीत खरे की अहम भूमिका रही। पुनीत खरे 80 के दशक से ही बतौर फिल्म प्रचारक (पीआरओ) एंटरटेनमेंट वर्ल्ड में अपनी विशिष्ट छवि कायम कर चुके हैं। फिलवक्त इवेंट मैनेजमेंट की दुनिया में काफी एक्टिव हैं। इस अवॉर्ड समारोह में दादा साहेब फाल्के के ग्रैंडसन चंद्रशेखर पुसालकर और उनकी दत्तक पुत्री नेहा बंदोपाध्याय को खास तौर पर सम्मानित किया गया।
