Indo–Djibouti Film And Cultural Forum Inaugurated At Embassy Of Djibouti
New Delhi: The Indo–Djibouti Film and Cultural Forum was formally inaugurated by H.E. Isse Abdillahi Assoweh, Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to India, at a gracious ceremony held at the Embassy of Djibouti in New Delhi.
The launch marks an important step towards strengthening cultural, cinematic and creative relations between India and Djibouti and creating new opportunities for collaboration in the fields of films, television, media, education, art and culture.
Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Isse Abdillahi Assoweh, Ambassador of the Republic of Djibouti to India, welcomed the initiative and appreciated the efforts to bring the two nations closer through the power of cinema and culture. He emphasised that cultural exchange is an effective means of promoting mutual understanding, friendship and people-to-people relations. He expressed his desire to see greater cooperation between India and Djibouti in the creative sectors and hoped that the Forum would become a vibrant platform for meaningful exchanges and joint initiatives.
Dr. Sandeep Marwah, President, International Chamber of Media and Entertainment Industry (ICMEI), said that India and Djibouti share tremendous potential for cooperation in the fields of media, entertainment, films and culture. He emphasised that cinema has the unique ability to connect people beyond geographical boundaries and can play a significant role in strengthening diplomatic and cultural relations.
Dr. Marwah said that the Indo–Djibouti Film and Cultural Forum would work towards facilitating film exchanges, cultural programmes, filmmakers’ interactions, academic collaborations, joint productions, festivals and other creative initiatives between the two countries.
“India has always believed in the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam—the world is one family. Through cinema, art and culture, we can build bridges of friendship, understanding and cooperation between India and Djibouti,” said Dr. Sandeep Marwah.
He further expressed confidence that the Forum would open new avenues for filmmakers, artists, media professionals, students and cultural organisations from both nations and contribute to stronger bilateral relations.
The inauguration concluded with a commitment to further promote India–Djibouti friendship through films, media, art and culture, making the Forum an important platform for long-term cooperation between the two countries.

A celebrated International Celebrity Anchor, renowned Urdu Shayar and winner of 40 National and 6 International Awards, Dr. Vaibhav Sharma has built an exceptional identity at the fascinating crossroads of law, literature, poetry, entertainment and public speaking. An alumnus of the prestigious Symbiosis Law College, Pune, Dr. Sharma completed his B.S.L. Law Honours Degree. But even during his college years, destiny was already revealing his artistic calling. At IIT Mumbai’s MOOD INDIGO Festival, one of India’s most celebrated youth festivals, his command over expression earned him two First Prizes—Hindi Extempore and Creative Writing.

Bharat Ratna Maa Saraswati Lata Mangeshkar ji, legendary Hindi poet Dr. Gopaldas Neeraj ji and Ghazal King Jagjit Singh ji admired his extraordinary command over language. Padma Shri Tom Alter bestowed upon him the powerful title “Zubaan Ka Badshah.”
His poetry has also earned him an exceptionally rare identity. After listening to his mesmerising and soulful Urdu poetry at the World Conference of Urdu, Mecca-Madina Maulvi Sahab gave him the title “NAYAB”—meaning rare, precious and incomparable.
And when a legend like Kader Khan ji calls someone a “Ruhani Farishta,” the words themselves become an honour. This extraordinary title became another jewel in Dr. Sharma’s remarkable journey.
On 18 July 2021 in Mumbai, another prestigious chapter was added to his legacy when he received the Doctorate of Honour from the American University of Global Peace, U.S.A., alongside legendary playback singer Padma Bhushan Udit Narayan ji and renowned legendary actor Raza Murad ji.
