Digital platforms slowly overtook film entertainment to rank the third largest in the Indian media and entertainment sector in 2019! It was, eventually, inevitable that the figures would further rise with the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, according to FICCI Indian Media and Entertainment report, the figures will rise from Rs. 2,019 crore in 2017 to Rs. 5595 crore by 2022!

The popularity of OTT platforms is at an all-time high, as the audience shifts from theatres to streaming services from the comfort of their homes and devices! The viewers get a new habit – binge watching, thereby spiraling video consumption across metros, other urban cities and the rest of rural India.

The target group of major OTT platforms is set to be the millennials of the age group of 18-35 years old. As the digital India strengthens, the youth oriented population is expected to further increase the viewership of OTT platforms. This is aided by the drop in the prices of smart phones and cellular data tariffs. India is currently estimated to have over 500 million active smart phone users, and the figure is only ever-increasing!

Model-turned actor-turned media mogul Aparna Sharma ventures into the OTT Media Digital Platform as Co-Founder and Group President, Darwin Platform Group of Companies. The dynamic group has been researching on the video-on-demand services and opportunities in the Indian sub-continent. With OTT platforms targeting millennial age groups of 18-35, they is looking forward to strategize this approach in a differentiable way by targeting urban and rural markets.

With the staunch belief that content marketing strategy with exclusive content is the differentiator, this OTT is set to take the industry by storm! With over 30 plus OTT players in India, in different languages, it is now possible, and even more effective, in targeting audiences based on their content preferences.  A lesser known fact is that over 40 per cent of OTT platforms in India cater to regional content. The current OTT will have over 14000 hours of content, including Hindi and regional language shows and films and is already in the process of acquiring stronger content as well.

Aparna Sharma has a strong career background in the entertainment space, albeit as a model-actor. She has done TV commercials for Parle Monaco with Aamir Khan, ESPN Brand Film with John Abraham, Coca Cola with Imran Khan, Chik Satin Shampoo, Samsung Mobile. She was also seen in her debut feature film, Guddu Ki Gun. After that, she went on to sign a three movie and web-series contract with Balaji Motion Pictures. Her last film was Rum Pum Posshh starring Karan Kundrra, Errol Marks, and Deepraj Rana.

Meanwhile, a little bird told was reportedly abuzz, about Aparna Sharma, soon to be the bride of HRH of Sultanpur sharing the lineage of Lord Ram and turn Adya Singh. Looks like another Power Couple is in the making!

Small-town girl Archana Singh Rajput is making her mark in the film industry

Cinema is a competitive industry to be in! However, actor Archana Singh Rajput is taking baby steps to make her mark in the film industry. Born on 27 June, 1996, Archana is a young, talented and hard-working actress with no godfather in the industry. She hails from Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh but was born and brought-up in Assam as his father used to work there. As she grew up, her family shifted to their hometown in Uttar Pradesh where she did her engineering.

In an interview, Archana said, “While I was doing my engineering, I realized that it wasn’t something I wanted to do. I was not happy pursuing engineering. In fact, I was always inclined towards artistic things and wanted to do something creative in life. And thus, I chose to be an actor because it is a medium which lets a person live many characters and their emotions.”

Her journey to the glamour industry wasn’t easy. She revealed that she hails from a conservative family where academics is given preference over everything else. She had a hard time convincing her parents to let her follow her passion. After completing her education, she came to Mumbai to find work. She told, “When I came to Mumbai, I didn’t have much knowledge about the industry and how it works. I got my first role in the TV show ‘Bahu Humari Rajni Kant’. They were looking for a girl who could speak fluent Bengali. And since, I am born and brought-up in Assam, I am well-versed with Assamese and Bengali language. I got that part very easily and played the role of Deboleena Chattopadhyay. It was a small role and I worked for 2-3 months. But I learnt so much during that time.”

“Doing that show gave me confidence and I wanted to learn more about acting. I realized that I was good at it and that’s why I got that part even though I was a new-comer with no knowledge of acting. And therefore, I joined theatre to enhance my skills as an actor,” she further told.

Archana calls herself stubborn and believes that this nature of hers will make her succeed. During the interview, Shweta was asked if she ever feels scared with the thought of not succeeding in the industry. To this, she replied, “I am not scared and such thoughts don’t even come across my mind. So far, I have achieved everything I wanted in life, be it on academic front or coming to the glamour industry. I am stubborn by nature and I love challenges. I don’t have a Plan B. This is my goal and I will work hard to achieve it. Whatever I have achieved here in the last three years, it’s all because of my never give-up attitude and I believe that my journey will go on in the same way.”

Talking about her upcoming projects, she will be next seen in Telugu film titled ‘Maha Prasthanam’. It will hit the screens in the first week of March. She has also signed another Telugu film called ‘Abhimani’ which will go on floors soon.

The actress enjoys a massive fan following of over 4 lakh on Instagram. She is quite active on social media and often posts beautiful and glamourous pictures and videos of herself. Archana loves classical dance. She says, “When I was a child, I used to watch classical dance especially Bharatanatyam on TV and learned it.”

           

She is a big fan of Vidya Balan and Amitabh Bachchan. Archana had a dream of working with late actor Irrfan Khan who unfortunately passed away in April 2020 while battling cancer. However, Archana looks forward to working with everyone as and when the opportunity comes her way.

चांदनी सिंह ने शुरू की दीपक किराना भंडार की शुटिंग

भोजपुरी फिल्मों की जानी मानी अदाकारा और म्युजिक वर्ल्ड की सनसनी चांदनी सिंह ने गुजरात में अपनी नयी फिल्म दीपक किराना भंडार की शुटिंग शुरू कर दी है। इस फिल्म में उनके नायक हैं सिंगर और एक्टर रितेश पांडे। इस फिल्म के निर्माता दीपक शाह हैं।

फिल्म को निर्देशित कर रहे हैं धीरू यादव। नये साल की नई उम्मीदों और चुनौतियों के बीच  इस फिल्म कोलेकर चांदनी सिंह काफी उत्साहित हैं। वह कहती हैंयह फिल्म हल्की फुल्की कामेडी के साथ साथ रहस्य और रोमांच की रीढ़ है जिसे दर्शक जरूर पसद करेंगे। जहां तक मुझे याद है यह पहली फिल्म होगी जो किसी किराना स्टोर को हाईलाईट करते हुए बन रही है।

निर्माता दीपक शाह की तारीफ करती हुई चांंदनी सिंह कहती हैंदीपक शाह जी की मैं दो फिल्मों की शुटिंग कर रही हूं दीपक किराना भंडार के साथ साथ एमएलए दर्जी की शुटिंग भी यहीं गुजरात में हो रही है। इन दोनो फिल्मों को धीरू यादव जी ही निर्देशित कर रहे हैं और दोनो फिल्मों में मेरे नायक रितेश पांडे जी ही हैं।

      

दोनो फिल्मों की स्क्रीप्ट पर काफी मेहनत की गई है। दीपक शाह जी लाजबाव प्रोड्युसर हैं। धीरू यादव जी को सिनेमा की काफी समझ है और रितेश पांडे जी  शानदार एक्टर हैं।

अब इसे अचिवमेंटं ही तो कहेंगे। चांदनी सिंह भोजपुरी वर्ल्ड की एक मात्र एैसी नायिका हैं तो म्युजिक वर्ल्ड से भोजपुरी फिल्मों में  बतौर नायिका आईं और आते ही छा गई तथा लगातार बड़े- बड़े कलाकारों के साथ काम कर रही हैं वह भी मुख्य भुमिका में।

शुरू में उन्होने कुछ फिल्मों में स्पेशल सांग किए फिर मुख्य नायिका बन गईं। चांदनी सिंह इन दिनों निर्माता दीपक शाह की भोजपुरी फिल्म एमएलए दर्जी की शुटिंग गुजरात में कर रही हैं। इस फिल्म में उनके नायक हैं जाने माने गायक और स्टार रितेश पांडे। एमएलए दर्जी को निर्देशित कर रहे हैं निर्देशक धीरू  यादव।

इस फिल्म में मणिभट्टाचार्य भी सेकेंड लीड में हैं। इस फिल्म के डीओ पी प्रकाश अन्ना हैं। इस फिल्म को लेकर चांदनी सिंह काफी उत्साहित हैं। वह कहती हैं दीपक शाह जी भोजपुरी फिल्मों के बड़े नाम हैं। उनके साथ काम करना वाकई मेंरे लिए बढ़ी खुशी की बात है।

धीरू यादव जी के साथ मैने पहले भी काम किया है और रितेश पांडे जी का तो जवाब नहीं। बहुत अच्छी टीम है दर्जी एमएलए की। मैं उम्मीद करती हूं कि यह फिल्म मेरे कला और कैरियर को और आगे तक लेजाने में मेरी मदद करेगी।
