Colourful realms of life

          A group art exhibition showcasing the works of 11 eminent artists has been presented by Vachi Art Gallery at 141-B, 1st Floor, Atria Mall, Dr. Annie Besant Road, Worli, Mumbai 400 018 from 22 to 28 April, 2024. It will be open for free public viewing there daily from 11 am. to 7 pm.

          The contemporary artists participating in this group art show are Somenath Maity, Pradip Sarkar, Anand Panchal, Bhaskar Rao, Ganpati Hegde, Nilesh Nikam, Amol Pawar, Sukanta Das, Rahul Dangat, Paras Parmar, Arti Vohra

          Various works will be presented in different mediums and techniques by the participating artists as per their thematic perceptions.

Nature occupies an important place in the conceptual paintings in this art show. It signifies various norms of Life in Nature and Gods in Nature in the pictorial forms as paintings. In a way, the vivid works to be displayed in this show will be focussed on Nature and its sanctity in life.

This show was inaugurated on 22nd April 2024 by Manjari Thanawala, Owner Chesterfield Furniture in the presence of Mahendra Kalantri, Director, Acclaim Systems India Pvt. DCP Expeditions, India’s one of the fastest growing Photography Training Academy will be exhibiting its 9thGrand Annual Photography Exhibition 2024, on 19th,20th and 21stApril 2024 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at Bombay Art Society situated at K. C. Marg, Bandra Reclamation, Bandra West, Mumbai, Maharashtra 400050.

DCP Expedition’s 9th Grand Annual Photography Exhibition was inaugurated at the Bombay Art Society, Bandra, Mumbai on 19th April at 12:00 noon. Renowned photography Guru, Technical Editor of Smart Photography, Mr Rohinton Mehta inaugurated the occasion with words of great appreciation for the quality of the work by nearing 100 photographers from across the country who are exhibiting their work in the exhibit. The exhibition is open for all till 21st April 2024.

The exhibition carries with it a legacy of almost a decade, exhibiting astonishing creative photography by hundreds of photographers from across the country and also, from beyond the country borders. The platform aims at providing the talented photographers an exposure to a wider audience. The imagery involves several genres of photography starting from wildlife, birds, macro, landscapes, astro to travel, streets and food photography.

A total of 200breath taking images by 100 plus professional as well as amateur wildlife, nature, travel and food photographers from across India and abroad, will be displayed in two galleries.Photographs printed on Epson enhanced Matt papers and beautifully mounted in frames will glorify the galleries of Bombay Art Society for three days. The previous exhibitions conducted in the bygone years had immense success with nearing 5000 footfalls over 3 days. This year, the exhibition is optimistically looking forward towards over 7500 footfalls.

This year the exhibition is supported by industry leaderslike Olympus India, Creative Newtech and PhotoStop by Honeycomb Creative Support Ltd.

Yellow Canvas – Children’s Art Exhibition 2024

A non commercial group art exhibition showcasing the works of about 100 school children from preschool to 12th standard have been displayed at Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery, Bajaj Bhavan, Nariman Point, Mumbai 400 021 from 12th to 14th April, 2024 between 11 am to 7 pm. This is the 4th edition of group art exhibitions coordinated by Mr. Sohan Kumar Choudhary who is himself an artist having passed B.F.A. from Sir J.J. Institute of Applied Art, Mumbai. This exhibition is the first of its kind to be held in Mumbai with a participation of about 100 students from Mumbai and other States of India, Singapore, USA, Israel, Germany, Netherland, U.K., U.A.E., Myanmar, Belgium, Hong Kong. Students are exhibiting artworks made in different mediums as in Acrylic, Charcoal, Pen & Ink, Mixed Media, Oil pastel, soft pastel & watercolour etc has been showcased in the exhibition and there will be free entry for this Art exhibition.

Sohan Kumar Choudhary conducts many art activities related to art such as Art Classes, Workshops, Art shows, Camps for all age groups etc. thereby promoting the artists to paint in various mediums and imaginations along with the introduction of Indian folk art such as Warli paintings, Madhubani paintings and Gond Art to connect overseas students/children with the nuances of Indian Culture & Art heritage as well as traditional Indian Art in order to encourage young talent.

DIVINE ENDEAVOURS

Recent work of a contemporary artist, Jitendra R.Divte in Acrylic colours on canvas has been displayed in a solo art show in Jehangir Art Gallery, M.G. Road, Kala Ghoda, Mumbai 400 001 from 19th to 25th February, 2024 between 11 am to 7 pm. It will be open for free public viewing there during the gallery timings and showcase his artistic perceptions about the various temples, religious shrines, vivid places of worship, the buildings of historical and social heritage and relevance etc. in his style via apt colour combinations to suit their thematic relevance in different perspectives of visual fine arts. 

This show was inaugurated on 19th February 2024 by Honorable Guests – Anil Naik Eminent artist, Saikat Bakshi Author, Sanara Roy Miss India World 2022 Supermodel Actress. 

Jitendra R. Divte had his art education in fine arts at L.S. Raheja School of Arts, Mumbai, where he stood 7th in order of merit in Maharashtra in 1998. Then he displayed his work on various themes in Army & Navy Building, Kala Ghoda Association, Mumbai, show in 2005 followed by solo art show at Sahil Art Gallery, Mumbai in 2008. He also participated in some group art exhibitions at Nehru Centre, Worli, Mumbai, Army & Navy Building, Kala Ghoda Association, Mumbai Art Show, Hirji Jehangir Art Gallery, Bombay Art Society Annual Art Show, Vismay Metro Art Gallery, Bangalore, Mumbai, Chitrakala Parishath, Bangalore etc. He also participated in some International Water Colours art exhibitions in Bangladesh and Russia. He was awarded for his work in water colours in 2017 by IWS INDIA, in 2018 by IWS Bangladesh and in 2021 by IWS Russia. His work was appreciated by the art fraternity in these shows and he received good public response for these presentations. 

The present series in Acrylic Colours on canvas throws light on his artistic impressions and aesthetic perceptions about various historical buildings, their architectural details & the culture & heritage associated with them at various places. He has focussed on presenting the various relevant details at these places in his expressive style using apt colour combinations and their harmony.  He has also highlighted the relevance and sanctity of various temples, religious shrines and places of worship, the heritage and cultural traditions there and their significant peculiarities. He has made artistic use of morning light, afternoon light, evening light alongwith shades, shadows, reflections and illumination effects at the desired locations in the work. He has made use of warm and cool colours and achieved their balance for aesthetic and artistic decoration of his work in the relevant perspectives. He has also used various geometrical forms and achieved their rhythmic unison in the work at the strategic arenas in order to get the desired visual perspectives in his work. These works made in an aesthetic and artistic style using acrylic colours on canvas certainly share a dialogue with the viewers leading to their warm response and appreciation.
