Laughter. Tears. Laughter. Tears. On and on it went. 

Kolkata, 9^th May 2022

What a show it was. Terrified of Twenty-Five, a Broadway style solo musical, that premiered in Kolkata, at the amphitheater at the pristine Emami Arts, was a spectacle of the heart. An experience that I am sure none of the lucky spectators are going to forget in a long time. Basking in the glory of all her hard work over the past two years, was the creator, composer and performer of the musical, Jhansi. Firstly, to even have our own young people creating such distinct and stylised work in Kolkata, writing, composing and performing in the style of Western Musical Theatre (Broadway), was incredibly exciting. However, what we were not ready for, when we went in, was exactly how much our own personal life would be reflected as she performed. From our deepest shames and insecurities, to our very real fears of losing loved ones, to how utterly ridiculous the wedding industry is, she covered all the topics that plague us, all of us.

The show might be called Terrified of Twenty-Five, but it made everyone, old and young, laugh till their belly ached, and secretly cry into their handkerchiefs.

Honestly, it felt like a mirror in our faces, forcing us to confront our truths, while we felt safe in the warm embrace of the darkness and Jhansi’s brilliant words and music.

Strangers in tears hugging her after the end of each show, people messaging her days later, to speak of revelations that they applied in their lives, to guests in shock “How did you know my story. This is MY story”, we saw it all.

I guess… it is OUR story. We humans, who like to think of ourselves as alone in our suffering, our anxieties and our hopes. This musical proved this for sure. We are not alone, and we are SEEN.

Jhansi saw us. And she created this incredible rollercoaster of a musical. If the purpose of art is to heal, well, this show completed its purpose and some more.

About Jhansi (Tanvi Rajgarhia):

Our homegrown Kolkata girl, Jhansi, trained at Lasalle College of the Arts Singapore, getting her BA in Musical Theatre Performance.

She is determined to establish western Broadway style musicals in India, by telling OUR OWN stories. Talk about us, our challenges, our society, our people, while using this incredible art form. Not to mention, entertain the heck out of you.

She began her writing journey with Broadway style political parodies  , moving on to bigger pieces of music storytelling at festivals and shows to much online appreciation, Mama, Chai? (Online Kommune): 

“If you have ever had a dream that you could not fulfill, I wrote this show for you. Aaja dost, bond karte hain.” Says Jhansi.

She was even on a Netflix show, Queens of Comedy, where she was the only music comedian competing. Now she is writing full scale musicals, such as the one you are invited to.

After the premier of Terrified of Twenty-Five, Jhansi is off to New York City to audition for the second round of the merit based, prestigious BMI Lehman Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, where she has been asked to come audition as a lyricist finalist.

निर्माता हरीश शर्मा ने लॉन्च किया नया म्यूज़िक लेबल ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’

*मुम्बई, 07 मई:  हाल ही में मायानगरी मुंबई के एक स्टूडियो में म्यूज़िक लेबल H & K के तहत प्रवीण भारद्वाज द्वारा लिखे व कम्पोज किये गये और अमन त्रिखा द्वारा गाये गाने ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ की रिकॉर्डिंग की गई ।

संगीत के शोर में गुम दुनिया में मधुर और कर्णप्रिय संगीत को बढ़ावा देने के लिहाज़ से निर्माता हरीश शर्मा ने अब एक नई पहल कर दी है. हरीश शर्मा ने अपना नया म्यूज़िक लेबल ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ को एक नये गाने की की रिकॉर्डिंग के साथ मुम्बई में लॉन्च किया.

 

मुम्बई में एक स्टूडियो में ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ के लॉन्च के मौके पर निर्माता हरीश शर्मा, कविता शर्मा के अलावा जाने-माने गायक अमन त्रिखा और गीतकार व संगीतकार प्रवीण भारद्वाज भी मौजूद थे.

इस म्यूज़िक लेबल का पहला गाना होगा ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’. इस गाने को लिखा है प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने जो अब तक 150 से भी ज़्यादा फ़िल्मों के लिए सैंकड़ों हिट गाने दे चुके हैं. गीतकार से संगीतकार बने प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने ही इस रोमांटिक गीत को कम्पोज़ भी किया है.

हमेशा से ही लीक से हटकर गाने लिखनेवाले और अलहदा किस्म का संगीत देनेवाले गीतकार और संगीतकार प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने

इस ख़ास मौके पर कहा, “H & K म्यूज़िक के बैनर तले हम अर्थपूर्ण और गुणवत्तापूर्ण गाने लोगों के सामने पेश करेंगे. इतना ही नहीं, हम अपने ही गानों को लेकर टॉप क्लास के वीडियो एलबम भी तैयार करेंगे. इंडस्ट्री में बाहर से आनेवाली नई प्रतिभाओं को यहां आकर काफ़ी संघर्ष करना पड़ता है. हम इस म्यूज़िक लेबल के तहत नई प्रतिभाओं को भी मौका देंगे और उनकी साझेदारी मे नई नई धुनें लोगों के सामने लाएंगे. वैसे निर्माता के तौर पर हमारी 2-3 फ़िल्मों की शूटिंग पहले से ही चल रही हैं और आगे हम वेब सीरीज़ बनाने के काम में भी संलग्न हैं.”

निर्माता हरीश शर्मा अपने म्यूज़िक लेबल के लॉन्च पर ख़ुशी जताते हुए कहा, “राजस्थानी लोक संगीत और लोक धुनें बेहद समृद्ध हैं. राजस्थानी धुनें और वहां का संगीत काफ़ी लोकप्रिय तो है मगर उसे जन-जन और दुनियाभर में पहुंचाने के लिए सब तक कोई माकूल मंच नहीं मिला है. H & K म्यूज़िक की कोशिश होगी कि अन्य तरह के गीत-संगीत को बढ़ावा देने के साथ साथ हम राजस्थानी संगीत और वहां की स्थानीय प्रतिभाओं को भी उभरने का पूरा मौका दिया जाए. हमें यकीन है कि हम इसमें ज़रूर कामयाब होंगे.”

H & K म्यूज़िज के पहले गीत ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ के गायक अमन त्रिखा ने नये म्यूज़िक लेबल के लॉन्च और इसके तहत पहले गाने की रिकॉर्डिंग को लेकर कहा, “मैंने H & K म्यूज़िक के तहत आज जो गाना गाया है वो बहुत ही सुरीला और रोमांटिक गाना है. प्रवीण भारद्वाज ने इस गाने के जो बोल लिखे हैं, वो बहुत ही अर्थपूर्ण हैं जो लोगों के दिलों को छू जाएंगे.”

सिंगर अमन त्रिखा ने इस ख़ास मौके पर ‘बारिश का इंतज़ार’ का एक मुखड़ा भी गाकर सुनाया. इस गाने के वीडियो में लीड एक्टर के तौर पर ‘बहू-बेगम’ और ‘घायल रिटर्न्स’ फ़ेम अभिनेत्री डायना ख़ान नज़र आएंगी.

उल्लेखनीय है कि ‘H & K म्यूज़िक’ के लेबल के तहत दूसरा गाना शाबाव साबरी द्वारा गाया जाएगा, जिसमें दुबई की जानी-मानी अभिनेत्री आएशा ख़ान मुख्य रूप से फ़ीचर होंगी ।

~The 2022 Edition of KLF will be held in Goa from 14-15 May, 2022~

This year’s festival aims to bring together creative minds to offer insights on matters relevant to the literature and our cultural life as a nation. Announcing the festival Mr. Sumant Batra said, “We are extremely excited to host this year’s Kumaon Literary Fest and look forward to taking art and literature lovers on a creative journey. We have a very impressive line-up of speakers this year along with some interesting book launches and discussions. The energy is going to be positive and palpable as the best of artists, writers, and historians come together to support art in its best form.”

Each year, the festival, promotes art and world heritage with numerous innovative initiatives. This year, the festival will have eminent speakers like Amrit Gangar, film historian and writer, Anant Vijay, senior journalist and author, Rahul Rawail, film director and writer, Milee Ashwarya, publisher, Ebury Publishing and Vintage Publishing at Penguin Random House India, His Grace Sri Chanchalapathi Dasa, Senior Vice-President of ISKCON, Bangalore and Vice-Chairman of the Akshaya Patra Foundation among many others. Mr. Bibek Debroy, Chairman, Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister of India, will also be giving the keynote address on ‘Translating the Ancient Text: The Place of Mythology in the Popular Consciousness.’.

“Our approach towards the festival is aimed at maximizing the impact, optimizing on the resources and ensuring measurable and tangible outcomes. This event will bring together writers, historians, artists, literary pioneers and prodigies from around the world. Renowned authors like Dhritiman Chaterji, Kiran Manral, Jerry Pinto and Gautam Chintamani will also grace the event with their presence. Apart from these, several key current and former bureaucrats and domain experts will be present at the event and participate in discussions and launches of books including ‘Tijara Mystery Codes by Hemma Myers Sood’, ‘Remo: The Autobiography of Remo Fernandes’, ‘Sing, Dance and Pray – The Inspirational Story of Srila Prabhupada by Hindol Sengupta’, ‘My Name is GauharJaan!: The Life and Times of a Musician by Vikram Sampath’ and many more.” Mr. Batra added.
The festival was founded in the year 2014 by Mr. Sumant Batra, a lawyer of global repute, author and a cultural champion. KLF is conceptualised as an institution with an eco-system comprising a number of projects and activities: Fellows of Nature, in partnership with French Institute in India and Wildlife Trust of India; Women Unlimited Series, in partnership with United Nations Women; Literary Bhagidari and Have a Safe Journey.

फ़िल्म जगत के इतिहास में पहली बार आयोजित महाआरोग्य बॉलीवुड फ्री जेनरल मेडिकल कैम्प मुम्बई में सम्पन।

मुम्बई में महाराष्ट्र दिवस के दिन डॉक्टर 365 एवं आर के एच आईवी एड्स रिसर्च के एंड केयर सेंटर द्वारा फ़िल्म जगत के इतिहास में पहली बार महाआरोग्य  शिविर मुबई में सम्पन किया गया , फ़िल्म जगत के हजारो के संख्या में  मज़दूर वर्ग उपस्थित थे जिसमे डॉक्टर   और पैरामेडिकल स्टाफ 600 से ज्यादा मौजूद थे 2.5 करोड़ का मेडिसिन भी बितरण किया गया , आंखों का चेकअप एवं 10 हजार  से अधिक चश्मों का बितरण किया गया और तमाम तरह का जांच भी करने का काम किया गया। जन्हा बॉलीवुड के तमाम  सितारें  एवं डॉक्टर विजनेसमैन साथ ही साथ आर के एच आई वी एड्स रिसर्च एंड केयर सेंटर के चेयरमैन डॉ धर्मेंद्र कुमार का कहना है कि जो  समाज मे अच्छा काम करते है उनको सम्मानित करते है और आगे भी करते रहेंगे।  मेडिकल कैम्प के साथ – साथ सभी डॉक्टर सम्मानित भी किये गए। इस मौके पर पद्मश्री डॉ डी वाई पाटिल  चेयरमैन पाटिल ग्रुप ऑफ मेडिकल कॉलेज , वर्सोवा विधानसभा के एम. एल. ए  डॉ भारती लवेकर. वॉकार्ड ग्रुप के चेयरमैन डॉ हुजफ़ा खुराकीवाला , बॉलीवुड से श्री गणेश आचार्य, फ़िल्म फड्रेसन ऑफ इंडिया के प्रसिडेंट श्री टी पी अग्रवाल , अभिनेता राजा मुराद ,  चेयरमैन ऑफ अजंता फार्मा ,डॉ मधुसूदन अग्रवाल वॉइस चेयरमैन ऑफ अजंता फार्मा, असलम लस्करिया लस्करिया ग्रुप ऑफ चेयरमैन, श्री राजेन्द्र अग्रवाल डिस्टिक गवर्नर रोटरी क्लब ,निर्माता- श्री कीर्ति कुमार फ़िल्म निर्माता-श्री धीरज कुमार, डॉ कमरान खान , एवं तमाम हस्तिया उपस्थित थे ।

पद्मश्री सोमा घोष ने अपनी मधुर आवाज से फिर जिंदा किया गजल को, सबा खान की अदाकारी ने सबको मन मोह लिया

नए नए एक्सप्रेरिमेंट करने वाली म्यूजिक कंपनी वर्ल्डवाइड रिकॉर्ड ने एक बार फिर से साबित कर दिया है कि उसे अच्छे म्यूजिक की ही नहीं बल्कि अच्छे सिंगरों की भी समझ है यही कारण है कि म्यूजिक वर्ल्ड में वर्ल्डवाइड रिकॉर्ड्स का नाम बड़े ही आदर और सम्मान के साथ लिया जाता है। इस कंपनी के एमडी रत्नाकर कुमार ने एक बार फिर से साबित कर दिया है कि वे अच्छे म्यूजिक को लोगों तक पहुंचाने के लिए किसी भी हद तक जा सकते हैं।

इसी कड़ी में रत्नाकर कुमार ने  लीजेंडरी लेखक स्व. परवीन शाकिर को एक म्यूजिकल ट्रिब्यूट दिया है। उन्होंने स्व.परवीन शाकिर की लिखी हुई नज़म को ‘अपने बिस्तर पर बहुत देर से’ को बनारस के संगीत घराने से तालुक रखने वाली पद्मश्री सिंगर डॉ सोमा घोष की आवाज में पेश किया है। जिसे सुनकर मानो कानों में कोई मधुर रस घोल रहा हो ऐसा लग रहा है। इस ग़ज़ल को सोमा घोष के अलावा कोई और इतनी बेहतरीन तरीके से नहीं निभा सकता था।

इसके साथ ही इस गजल में भोजपुरी इंडस्ट्री की बेहतरीन अदाकारा सबा खान ने अपने लाजवाब परफॉर्मस से चार चांद लगा दिए हैं। सबा ने ‘अपने बिस्तर पर बहुत देर’ से नज़म में अपनी अब तक की सबसे बेस्ट परफॉर्मस दी है। एल्बम का नाम है उनकी दुल्हन सजाऊंगी। इसे पद्मश्री सिंगर डॉ सोमा घोष ने गाया हैं। फीचर सबा खान, म्यूजिक उस्ताद जब्बार हुसैन , म्यूजिक डिजाइन बी विवेक प्रकाश, निर्देशक सुमित भारद्वाज हैं। गाने के फुल राइट्स वर्ल्डवाइड रिकार्ड्स के पास हैं।
