Nachiket Narvekar On His Experience Working In Fastey Fasaatey

Tell us about your role in Fastey Fasaatey

I play the role of Dev who is the best friend of its protagonist Aakash. Though FasteyFasaateyis all about today’s modern youngsters but it has backdrop of a traditional family who want to get their son Aakash married immediately while he tries to buy time to set his love life in order with a free spirited girl Anisha who has her own pursuits in life and is not thinking of getting married anytime soon. He has lied to his family as well as Anisha.At this critical moment of Aakash, I come from London to help him but we both get trapped in the situation. So the title of the film is FasteyFasaatey.

How did you bag the role

This is my debut movie as an actor in Bollywood. Though I come from a Bollywood background and Iunderstand that the script is the key to a successful movie. Amit Sir knows me since long. One day he called me his office and gave me a script to read. I enjoyed reading it. When I finished its reading; he asked me, would I like to act in this Film? I was a bit surprised. I asked him which role? He not told me for which role he is considering me but he gave me two days to think and revert. Next day only I called him that I wanted to do Dev’s character though it’s of second lead but it suited my personality. He told me that he already has a guy Arpit in Aakash’s role on board and he is happy that I choose Dev’s role as he himself wanted me to offer Dev’s role.

 

Expectations from the film

In recent years, there has been a change in how the audiences perceive films. Now content oriented films get their way and FasteyFasaatey is a light hearted script based film. I am very positive about it.

When you are making a film, you do not know how it is going to be received by the audience. Though I have not seen the Film yet but Amit Sir showed the Film to my father (N Chandra) and my brother and both liked it. So fingers crossed.

 

Director experience

Amit Sir was very clear about his Film and its script. He also gave us bound script three months prior to the shooting. We also did a lot of acting workshops with all the actors before going to the shoot. It was a well-planned professionally managed shooting experience for me. Being a debutant actor he made sure to give me my space as an actor.

 

Co stars experience

Working with Arpit chaudhary and Karishma Sharma and all other actors was a great experience. It was great working with all of them. We didn’t need any ice-breaking as we all knew each other well during our acting workshops and we all gelled really well. I got to learn so much from all of them. I have a lot of scenes with Arpit and Karishma and we got to work very closely while filming.

A romantic song was launched at Mumbai’s Vyanjan Banquets Hall on the previous evening where the media team along with the entire team associated with this song was also present. This video, titled ‘Milo Ke Faasle’is being released by Zee Music. Lyricist of this song, music director and singer is Somnath Yadav while in this video Manisha Kag is featuring with Somnath Yadav.

Directed by S. Swapneel Mahindre, DOP Kuldeep Damor, Assistant DOP Chinmay Vyas, Producer S. Swapneel Mahindre, Co-Producer Yogesh Kumar, while Neeraj Agarwal has been responsible for its production. This video, made under the banner of Fore Films, has been shot in Ladakh.

  

Manisha Kag, who is featured in this video, said that this is her first music video, although she has done many things as a character artist. Manisha, who studied in Indore, says that this video has been shot at Ladakh’s beautiful places. Since the song is also very romantic and lovely, it has been shot at the best place.

Producer director S. Swapneel Mahindre said that shooting of his video was a challenging task. The location of Ladakh where we were shooting was very beautiful but it was difficult to reach there. On one place our car was trapped and our phones were not working, but then somehow we reached the location and shot this great video.

Manisha kag, an innocent looking actress who has a very sweet smile, said that she considers Vidya Balan in Bollywood as her role model, and that’s because she is not very glamorous, but she is a great actor and performer. I have more interest in arts than glamor. I have a passion to write poetry too.

Musician and singer Somnath Yadav said that this is the first song of the album, and some more songs will be released soon. Hope the people will like this song.

निर्माता निर्देशक एस स्वप्निल महिंद्रे ने बताया कि इसका विडियो शूट करना चैलेंजिंग काम था. लद्दाख की जिस लोकेशन पर हम शूट कर रहे थे वह है तो बेहद खुबसूरत मगर वहां तक पहुंचना मुश्किल रहा. एक जगह पे हमारी गाडी फंस गई थी और हमारे फ़ोन भी काम नहीं कर रहे थे खैर फिर किसी तरह हम मंजिल पर पहुंचे और इस शानदार विडियो को शूट किया.

एक बेहद प्यारी मुस्कान रखने वाली मासूम सी दिखने वाली एक्ट्रेस मनीषा काग ने बताया कि वह बॉलीवुड में विद्या बालन को अपनी रोल मॉडल मानती हैं और उसकी वजह यह है कि विद्या बहुत ज्यादा ग्लैमरस नहीं हैं, लेकिन अदाकारी और एक्सप्रेशंस के मामले में उनका जवाब नहीं है. मुझे भी ग्लैमर के बजाय आर्ट्स में अधिक रूचि है. मुझे कवितायें भी लिखने का शौक है.

संगीतकार और सिंगर सोमनाथ यादव ने बताया कि अलबम का यह पहला गीत है इसके बाद कुछ और गीत भी जल्द रिलीज़ होंगे. आशा है कि श्रोताओं और दर्शकों को यह गीत पसंद आएगा.

Actress Karishma Sharma on her experience working in Fastey Fasaatey

Tell us about your role in Fastey Fasaatey

I play new age NRI girl who wants to live her life with all the freedom without any interference from anyone as I born and brought up in London and lived most of my life in boarding schools. When I come to India for a small assignment and live with a friend in her home, I feel that her joint family and neighbours have too much interference in our lives so I start living alone here in India.

I come across a guy Aakash to whom I feel compatible so I start living in with him for some time as I have to go back to London after couple of months. As he has lied to me for living in with me so the conflict starts in his life.

So I will say that FasteyFasaatey is a very new age modern romantic comedy which have a traditional family backdrop. When I heard the narration for the first time; it was really cute, funny and emotional. The very concept of a live-in relationship seemed very fresh. I also liked the fact that, for a change, the guy was asking the girl to marry and girl is not interested. This movie tends to break the stereotyping thought process that’s what really fascinated me.

How did you bag the role

Amit Sir saw some of my work and called me through a common friend to his office. During the first meeting itself, he narrated me the script. After the narration, I immediately told him that I wanted to do it. Before coming me on board, Arpit and Nachiket were committed for the Film and that day Amit Sir sent both of them to watch a play at Prithvi Theatre sothat both can gel well on screen as best friends.

 

To my surprise, Amit Sir also took me to the Prithvi Theatre when the show was over and introduced me to Arpit and Nachiket. One of his friend lives near Prithvi Theatre and we all had a long chat. On a parting note, he gave me the script and told me to rehearse two scenes and to meet him next day at his office. Next day I met him at his office and performed two scenes and he told me that more or less I am on board but he needs to take his casting director nod also. Then audition process etc went on with the casting director and his team but I think that he has made up his mind to cast me on the second day only.

Expectations from the film

FasteyFasaatey is a cute and funny film – the one which you would like to watch with your family and friends. As two balloons on the poster in the form of F suggests that it’s all about F F – Fun and Family. I would like to add that it’s about flirting and friendship too. The team has told me not to speak much about the Film and let audiences react to it in a natural way. So I do not want to elaborate further.

Director experience

It was fabulous working with AmitAgarwal Sir as he knows exactly what he wants. I think he is very calm and patient. And the technicians team which he had on board were of high calibre. He used to listen to all his actors and technicians but finally what he wanted from an actor in the scene; he used to go his way only. I think that he was very clear in his mind.

I grew a lot as an actor with Arpit,Nachiket and everyone during our acting workshops and on the sets. Also for those three months, it’s more like a family cum friendship feeling with all. Working with good actors and technicians makes you grow and makes you a better actor. I had a great time working on FasteyFasaatey I hope everyone enjoys watching the movie the same way we enjoyed making it.

About  my role in FasteyFasaatey

I play the character of AkashSinghal, who works in a bank and is a regular guy with a good job in his hand. He is one of those people who strongly believes in his family and the values that they have brought him up with. Then, comes this girl in his life called Anisha. They both get attracted to each other and Akash starts living with her, without his family knowing about it. At one point, he is pressurized by his family to get married within a specific time limit due to certain reasons, which Akash very well understands, and thinks that there is no one better than Anisha for him to spend his life with. But Anisha being a free spirited girl who wants to have fun in her life at this point of time is not ready for any commitment.Akash lies to her and his family too. His best friend Dev flies all the way from London to help him out with an intention to save Akash from his situation. One lie then leads to another, tending to make the situation even more messier than it already was. Akash does mean well for everyone, but two words that strongly define him at a lot of places in this movie are his innocence and vulnerability. He is not afraid to show this side of his when required. This I personally think requires a lot of heart for a person to do so. What happens to Akash later is something we all have to find out when we watch the movie.

How did you bag the role?

I am a strong believer in Jesus in my personal life and I know for a fact that along with my hard work, he has played a major role in getting me at the right place, at the right time. Also, there is this beautiful person called Gitanjali Singh (an actor and model herself), who knew about this project and was kind enough to refer me to our Director, Mr AmitAgarwal, at the time when he and his team were looking to cast the character of Akash. There is this TV commercial I had already done for this brand called Abof and Amit Sir could see glimpses of his character Akash in the TVC itself when I had sent him my profile. He then met me and asked me to audition with Casting Director, Mr Vicky Sidana. Vicky Sir and his team gave me 2 different scenes to perform and when they were convinced, they took me on board. Plus, we had workshops before going on floors for our shoot, and I hope they were further convinced that I will be playing the character of Akash.

 

Experience of working on the film

It was a unique experience shooting for the entire project, as I got to meet so many experienced actors and technicians. The plot of the film itself is very simple and straightforward and we all had a lot of laughs while shooting for it. I think those memories are something which I have taken back with me and I definitely got to learn a lot more than I already knew of working on set.

 

Particular experience which is a good memory

Sharib Hashmi and me shared a very good bond on set and the way we used to make funny voices and make everyone laugh was a memory I always cherish. Also, Anusha Jain, who plays my sister in the movie is very affectionate towards me and there is a scene where she had to slap me for some reason and the fact that she was being so hesitant to do so even on screen and had to go through a few takes (more slaps for me) to get it bang on, was painful but at the same time showed how much affection and care she had for me. It is a small little cute memory which I will remember.

 

Expectations from this film

We have all made this film with a lot of heart and I just expect it to give the audience a wholesome entertainment with its comedy and its emotional moments at the same time. I basically would like to see a smile on everyone’s faces when they come out of the cinemas, after watching this film.

 

Director Experience

I have a lot of respect for our Director, Mr AmitAgarwal, not only because he gave me work in this project, but also because he is genuinely a beautiful person at heart. He never shows or says it straight up, but he has his own way of showing affection towards me and people around him. I can just feel that love for me, from his vibe when he is around. From being absolutely crystal clear about his script since day one, he knew exactly what he wanted from everyone involved in the project. Not only did I get to learn a lot from him, but I also got to learn how he deals with people and how patient he was with everyone from narrating the script to each and every department to the execution of the project, and to how wisely the team that he chose. He is a person whose word is actually his bond, and these are a few traits of him that I will not forget.

 

Co Stars Experience

All the actors look their part and I am pretty sure that they have done a great job. I got something or the other to learn from all of them, not only as actors but also for the person that they are and the individuality that they carry.
